Timbers extend defender Josecarlos Van Rankin's loan for remainder of 2022 season

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers today announced that the club has extended defender Josecarlos Van Rankin’s loan for the remainder of the 2022 season. Van Rankin joined the club in 2021 on loan from Liga MX side Club Deportivo Guadalajara (Chivas). Under the extension, the Timbers retain a club option to purchase Van Rankin.

Van Rankin, 28, has started in all of his 15 appearances for Portland during the 2022 season. In his first year in MLS in 2021, the Mexican defender logged 27 starts in 33 appearances during the regular season and tallied three assists for the Timbers.
