The Storyline

Facing off for the 12th time in MLS history, the Timbers hold a 2-5-4 record in the all-time series against the New York Red Bulls. Saturday marks the sixth matchup between both clubs in the Rose City. Portland has a 1-2-2 record against RBNY when playing at home.

The Timbers (10-9-9, 39pts) have produced 13 goals and 13 assists in 11 games against the New York Red Bulls (11-11-7, 40pts).

Saturday will mark the first meeting between the two sides since May 7, 2022, a 1-1 draw at Red Bull Arena (now Sports Illustrated Stadium). Notably, Saturday’s encounter will make the Red Bulls one of three Eastern Conference teams (TOR, NE) to face the Timbers a dozen times in MLS, tied for the second most interconference match-ups in Timbers history trailing only Columbus and New England (13).
