The Storyline

Orlando City SC (5th in East, 6-2-6, 24pts) vs Portland Timbers (4th in West, 6-3-5, 23pts)

Portland enters Matchday 15 in good form, registering one single defeat in their last 11 league games. May has presented itself as the toughest stretch in the schedule yet, but the Timbers have not shied away from the challenge.

Santiago Moreno has been Portland's most proficient scorer over the month, registering four goals. David Da Costa has quietly and efficiently become the Timbers' joint-top assister (7) alongside Antony with three of those coming in his last four regular season outings and the duo becoming tied for second for most helpers in the league. Da Costa and Moreno's combination in Portland's last MLS outing against Cascadia rivals Seattle Sounders helped earn a point in a very tightly-contested matchup.

As the end of a jam-packed May nears, the Timbers have two games remaining before being able to enjoy a well-earned 11-day break: Orlando City away on Saturday, and Colorado Rapids at home on May 28.

Orlando City becomes just the second Eastern Conference club Portland has faced in 2025. Saturday's hosts are one of, if not the hottest team in their conference heading into the clash at Inter&Co Stadium. Having only lost two games all season, and just one in their last 13, the Lions have registered five wins and six draws along the way to place them just five points from the top-two spots in the East.

Orlando City's Designated Player Martin Ojeda leads the way offensively with eight goals and three assists. A versatile #10, Ojeda had a three-match scoring streak in March that he then followed up with a hat trick performance in early May against New England. If he's on the field Saturday, expect much of the Lions' offense to flow through his feet. Defensively, Orlando City has goalkeeper Pedro Gallese who has recorded six clean sheets on the season.
