International Notebook | USMNT and Darlington Nagbe earn 0-0 draw with Trinidad & Tobago

Portland Timbers midfielder Darlington Nagbe picked up his second national team cap as the U.S. Men's National Team earned a 0-0 draw with Trinidad & Tobago in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Port-of-Spain Tuesday night. Subbing in at the 68th minute, Nagbe's speed added a new presence to the USA's attack.

Though the U.S. were unable to find a goal, Nagbe's creativity was noticed. The road point puts the Yanks atop the group on four points. The USMNT complete the first round of Group 3 matches in March when take on Guatemala twice in a home and away series.

Elsewhere in CONCACAF FIFA World Cup qualifying, Timbers defender Alvas Powell and Jamaica pulled off a dramatic 1-0 win over Haiti in Port-au-Prince. Powell played the full 90 for the Reggae Boyz who took all three points on a 90th minute goal from Clayton Donaldson. The win gives Jamaica their first points in Group 2.

Further south, Timbers midfielder Will Johnson received his second start in as many national team games as Canada fought to a 0-0 draw with the El Salvador in San Salvador. Johnson played 71 minutes in the match and was credited with two shots. The draw puts them in second place in Group 1. They will face Mexico next March in the next set of qualifying matches.
