Goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau named finalist for 2024 Canada Soccer Player of the Year

Portland Timbers goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau was named a finalist today for the 2024 Canada Soccer Player of the Year by Canada Soccer. The award recognizes the best of the Canada men's national soccer team program and is voted on by Canadian sports media and coaches.

Crépeau, one of eight nominees, started 23 matches across all competitions for Portland in 2024, earning the Timbers a spot in the Audi 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs and Round of 32 at the 2024 Leagues Cup. At the international level, the goalkeeper started in nine CANMNT matches in 2024, registering four clean sheets. Crépeau was named Gatorade Player of the Match on three occasions, most notably in Canada’s opening group stage match against Argentina at the 2024 Copa América.
