Rennico Clarke, Timbers training, 2.6.18

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers today announced that the club has waived defender Rennico Clarke.

Acquired by the club in 2015, Clarke, 22, spent two seasons (2015-16) with T2, before signing with the first team ahead of the 2017 MLS campaign.

“We are appreciative of Rennico’s service to the club—both on and off the field—the last three seasons, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” said Gavin Wilkinson, general manager and president of soccer for the Timbers.

In three seasons with the club, Clarke made 46 USL appearances (45 starts) as a central defender for T2, scoring two goals. Clarke made one first-team appearance for the Timbers, starting and recording an assist in a fourth-round U.S. Open Cup match against Seattle Sounders FC on June 13, 2017.

Transaction: Portland Timbers waive defender Rennico Clarke on Feb. 9, 2018.
