PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers today announced a partnership with Billups Worldwide, which makes the Lake Oswego, Ore., company the official presenting partner of the Portland Timbers U-23s and Portland Rain, an adidas Timbers Alliance club, through the 2013 season.
“We are excited to partner with the Timbers U-23s and the Rain, and to support two first-class development teams in our area,” said Benjamin Billups, CEO of Billups Worldwide. “The Timbers continue to play a leading role in the development of soccer throughout the state, and we are thrilled to be a part of it.”
The Timbers U-23s and Rain will play host to a pair of doubleheader matches this season, with the first taking place Friday at Kiggins Bowl in Vancouver, Wash. The Rain face Emerald City at 4 p.m., before the Timbers U-23s take on Seattle Sounders FC U-23 at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific).
The two teams will also play back-to-back matches on Sunday, July 8, at Hare Field in Hillsboro, Ore., The Rain play Issaquah SC at 3 p.m., prior to the Timbers U-23s’ contest against the Kitsap Pumas at 6 p.m. (Pacific).
