PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland Timbers defender Mark Daus was named to the Premier Development League Team of the Week for the 11th week of the season, it was announced today by United Soccer Leagues.
Daus becomes the third Timbers U-23s player to be named to the PDL Team of the Week this season. He helped the team earn four points on a two-game road trip to British Columbia, playing in both matches and scoring the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over division-leader Victoria Highlanders FC on July 13.
An all-conference defender at the University of Santa Clara, Daus joined the Timbers U-23s in late June and appeared in three matches during the regular season, logging 138 minutes and one goal. He also played in the Timbers U-23s friendly against the Martinique National Team on June 29.
The Timbers U-23s play host to Vancouver Whitecaps FC U-23 in a divisional playoff match Tuesday, July 23, at Doc Harris Stadium in Camas, Wash., at 7 p.m. (Pacific). Tickets, priced at $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under, will be available for purchase at the gate.
