Y. Chara tallied a goal and assist in 3-2 win against Vancouver
PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Timbers midfielder Yimmi Chara was named to the MLS Team of the Week for week 6, the league announced today.
This marks Y. Chara’s third team of the week appearance of 2022, as he was named to weeks 1 and 2 at the start of the regular season. Y. Chara contributed a goal and an assist to Portland’s 3-2 win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC on April 9 at B.C. Place. The Colombian midfielder now has a team-best three goals and three assists in seven games this season, totaling nine points in the 2022 campaign. In his third season with the Timbers, Y. Chara has scored 13 goals and tallied 18 assists overall.
The Timbers will travel to Houston to take on Dynamo FC on Saturday, April 16, at PNC Stadium. The match kicks off at 3 p.m. (Pacific) with a local television broadcast on FOX 12 PLUS and radio broadcasts on 750 The Game (English) and La GranD 1150AM/93.5 FM (Spanish).
