Timbers kick off 2022 MLS regular season against New England Revolution on Feb. 26 at Providence Park

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers will open the 2022 MLS regular reason against the New England Revolution at Providence Park on Saturday, Feb. 26, at 4:30 p.m. (Pacific), it was announced today as the league unveiled details for each club’s home-opening match for the 29th season of Major League Soccer.

Details on the nationally televised home opener and the Timbers’ full schedule will be announced at a later date.

The league announced on Nov. 5 that all teams will play a 34-game regular season (17 home games, 17 away games) facing each of their conference opponents two times and playing eight non-conference opponents once. To best align with the 2022 international soccer calendar, the MLS regular season will begin earlier than ever before and run through Decision Day, the regular season finale, on Sunday, October 9.
