Timbers Diego Valeri, Marvin Loría shine in MLS Team of the Week, Week 16

There were just six games in Week 16 of the 2019 MLS regular season, but there were still plenty of sparkling performances, something reflected in the Team of the Week presented by Audi.

The Portland Timbers posted a big win Saturday and unsurprisingly lead the way in terms of selections on the week.

This week's spotlight player is Portland Timbers midfielder Diego Valeri, who had a goal and three assists in a 4-0 rout over the Houston Dynamo on Saturday. He picked up 1,109 points, best in MLS for the week.

In addition to the goal and assists, Valeri had six key passes, won 100 percent of his tackles and completed 81 percent of his passes in the opposition half. Meanwhile, teammate Marvin Loría scored in his MLS debut to earn a spot in the TOTW XI and Brian Fernandez kept up his torrid scoring pace to earn a spot on the bench.
