Timbers broadcast team wins 2019 Northwest Regional Emmy Award

PORTLAND, Ore. â€“ The Portland Timbers broadcast team of Jake Zivin, Ross Smith and Nat Borchers won an Emmy Award in the Sports – Play by Play/Analyst category from the Northwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), it was announced over the weekend at the 56th-annual Northwest Regional Emmy Awards Ceremony.


Joining the Timbers broadcast team, the field of nominees for the award in 2019 included announcers from a variety of Northwest teams, including the Portland Trail Blazers, Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Sounders FC.


Additionally, Timbers Soccer on ROOT SPORTS was nominated for an Emmy in the Sports Program – Live Event/Game category. 


Notably, ROOT SPORTS’ Patrick Brown, the director on Timbers television broadcasts, won an Emmy in the Director – Sports category. 


The Northwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences serves television and media professionals in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.
