PORTLAND, Ore. – Major League Soccer today announced that the Portland Timbers home match against the LA Galaxy at Providence Park on Sunday, Aug. 6, has been moved to 11 a.m. (Pacific) due to excessive heat forecast for the Portland, Ore., area. Sunday’s match against the Galaxy will be televised nationally on ESPN and ESPN Deportes.
Originally scheduled for 1 p.m. (Pacific), the new start time will allow for lower on-field and in-stadium temperatures earlier in the day.
