#StatMan Three | Diego Chara continues long history with Seattle

The Portland Timbers fell 1-0 to Cascadia-rival Seattle Sounders FC Sunday at Providence Park. Here are three key #StatMan takeaways from the match. 


102 The match was the 102nd between Portland and Seattle since the Timbers first played the Sounders in 1975. It was also the 25th time in MLS play (playoffs and regular-season) the teams have faced off. 


7 Midfielder Diego Valeri was credited with a game-high seven chances created. The Timbers finished the match with 17 chances created to Seattle's three. 


19Diego Chara played his 19th MLS match against the Sounders in MLS play, which is the second-most matches played by a Timbers player against a single opponent. In the match, Chara had a game-high 85 touches while drawing five fouls.
