#StatMan Three | Defender Marco Farfan led all teams with eight tackles in Portland's draw with New England

The Portland Timbers continued their home unbeaten streak in 2017 with a 1-1 draw against the New England Revolution Sunday night at Providence Park. Here are three StatMan takeaways from the match.


5Midfielder Diego Valeri’s first-half volleyed goal in the 12th minute marked the fifth team goal scored in the first 15 minutes of a match in 2017–best in MLS. The goal was also Valeri’s fifth of the regular-season.  


8Homegrown Timbers defender and Gresham, Ore., native Marco Farfan had a game-leading eight successful tackles on the night. The match also marked the first time an Oregon-born player appeared in an MLS match for the Timbers at Providence Park.  


79 Defender Alvas Powell led both Portland and New England with a total of 79 touches in the match. He was also tied for second on the team with four tackles and had one chance creation.
