#StatMan Three | Asprilla's U.S. Open Cup goal feels like deja vu for Portland

The Portland Timbers ran their undefeated streak in all competitions to eight games as they defeated the San Jose Earthquakes 2-0 Wednesday at Providence Park in the Fourth Round of the 2018 U.S. Open Cup. Here are three key #StatMan takeaways from the match.

15 Wednesday night's win was the 15th victory by the Timbers in the U.S. Open Cup since the club's debut in the competition in 2004. Five of those 15 victories have come against opponents from California (San Jose Earthquakes twice, Sonoma County Sol twice and the Bakersfield Brigade).

34 Forward Jeremy Ebobisse became the 34th different Timbers player to score in the U.S. Open Cup for the club. Ebobisse has now scored once in the Open Cup and once in MLS play for Portland.

2 For the second time in his Timbers career, Dairon Asprilla scored in U.S. Open Cup play. His other Open Cup goal was also in a 2-0 victory over the Earthquakes at Providence Park in the Fourth Round of the competition in 2015.
