Sebastián Blanco makes second-straight MLS Team of the Week appearance (Wk 33) -

Fresh off being named Supporters’ Player of the Week, Portland Timbers attacker
Sebastián Blanco
has added another honor to add to his growing 2018 resume.

The Timbers’ joint-leading goalscorer was, for the second time in as many weeks, named to Major League Soccer’s Team of the Week. With one goal and one assist during Sunday’s 3-0 victory over Real Salt Lake, Blanco ran his season totals to 10 goals and 11 assists, becoming the second Timber in the MLS era to log at least 10 goals and 10 assists in the same season.

Blanco assisted on Diego Chara’s second half score, a tally that pushed Portland’s lead to 2-0. Then, in the 87th minute, the second-year Timber added his 10th goal of the season, a left-footed finish from the middle of Real Salt Lake’s penalty area.
