Quick Strikes | Portland and Minnesota combine for one of highest scoring fixtures ever in MLS

Team huddle, Timbers vs. LA, 7.27.19

In their penultimate away match of the 2019 regular season, the Portland Timbers will take on Minnesota United FC at Allianz Field on Sunday (1pm PT, ESPN). Here are five numbers to know for #MINvPOR in the latest edition of Quick Strikes.

250 With his next league appearance, midfielder Diego Chara will have played in 250 regular season matches for the Timbers. Chara would be the seventh MLS player ever to play 250 or more MLS regular-season matches while only playing for one MLS club.

5 In each of the first four matches between the Timbers and Minnesota United, the teams have combined to score five or more goals. It is the second fixture in MLS history to have each of the first four matches of a series have at least five goals, joining D.C. United and Kansas City (June 20, 1996-July 19, 1997).

6 Both Minnesota and Portland are undefeated in their last six MLS matches with each having a 4-0-2 record. Only the New England Revolution have a longer current unbeaten streak in MLS.

107 Allianz Field will be the 107th different away stadium the Timbers have played a league match in since the club's founding in 1975. It will be the fifth different stadium Portland has played at in the Gopher State, joining the National Sports Center, Metropolitan Stadium, the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome and TCF Bank Stadium.

32 Since the beginning of the 2014 season, the Timbers have won 32 road matches in MLS competition (regular season and playoffs). The 32 away victories are tied for the most in MLS in that time span.
