In July of 2017, the Portland Timbers were hit hard by injuries and headed to Canada traveling with just 14 senior players and two T2 players on emergency hardship. However, Portland stormed out of the gate and earned their first win in seven matches with a 2-1 victory over Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

1 Ebobisse, who was making his first MLS start, scored in the 14th minute for his first goal as a Timbers player. The then 20-year-old became the third-youngest goalscorer in the club's MLS history.
1X1 Both Ebobisse and Sebastián Blanco scored a goal and delivered an assist in the match. It was the first time either player had accomplished the feat in an MLS match, something Ebobisse has replicated once since. In his career with Portland, Blanco has had five different matches with a goal and an assist.
11 On the opening goal of the match, Dairon Asprilla's pass was redirected into the net by Ebobisse. Asprilla now has 11 assists (playoffs and regular season) to go with 11 career MLS goals.
18 Signed the day before the match on a temporary loan from T2, defender Harold Hanson came on as a late sub in the victory. Hanson became the youngest player ever to play for the Timbers in an MLS match at 18-years-and-seven-days.
5 The Timbers have five victories at BC Place in MLS play (regular season and playoffs). That mark is tied for the most MLS wins at any single road venue for Portland along with Rio Tinto Stadium.
