PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Timbers Academy midfielder Adrian Villegas was named to the 36-player roster for the U.S. Under-15 Boys’ National Team training camp from Dec. 13-20 in Bradenton, Fla., it was announced today.
U.S. U-15 BNT head coach John Hackworth enters his first training camp since being named coach in early November. The camp is the fifth, and final, training camp during the 2014 calendar year.
Villegas, 14, was previously called into training camp with the U-14 BNT from Aug. 9-16 in Carson, Calif., and has appeared in 11 games for the Timbers U-16s during the 2014-15 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Season.
The Hood River, Ore., native has scored four goals this season for the Timbers U-16s, including a brace in a 3-1 win against Weston FC on Dec. 3 at the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Winter Showcase in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. As a development player in 2013-14 season, Villegas made three appearances for the Timbers U-16s, scoring one goal.
