PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Thorns FC midfielder Tobin Heath and defender Rachel Van Hollebeke were named to the U.S. Women’s National Team roster for a two-game series of friendly matches against China PR on April 6 and April 10.
The U.S. Women’s National Team will take on China PR at 2 p.m. (Pacific) on Sunday, April 6, at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. The match will be streamed live on ussoccer.com. The next match against China PR will take place on Thursday, April 10, at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. The match, which starts at 8 p.m. (Pacific), will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network.
Heath, 25, has made two appearances for the United States this year, making her first appearance on March 5 against Japan at the Algarve Cup in Portugal. The midfielder, who has logged 71 appearances for the United States, earned her first start of the year on March 12 against Korea DPR at the Algarve Cup.
Van Hollebeke, 28, was most recently part of the U.S. Women’s National Team roster for the Algarve Cup in Portugal from March 5-12. Earning 111 appearances in her senior national team career, Van Hollebeke has made three appearances (2 starts) during 2014 for the United States.
Van Hollebeke will rejoin Thorns FC in Houston in time for the team’s NWSL regular-season opener on Saturday, April 12, against the Houston Dash at BBVA Compass Stadium.
