Juan David Mosquera called up to Colombian Men’s National Team

Timbers defender Juan David Mosquera was called into the Colombian Men’s National Team for the FIFA international period in March.

Mosquera will join Colombia to play a pair of friendly matches against South Korea (March 24) and Japan (March 28). The 20-year-old defender will join the senior team in Seoul, South Korea, on March 20 after the Timbers’ away match against Atlanta United FC on March 18.

Mosquera made his debut with Colombia’s senior team on January 28 when he started in the match against the U.S. Men’s National Team logging a full 90-minute performance. Mosquera is set to join the senior national team for the second time in his career after making the roster for the first time in January (2023). The defender also appeared with the Colombia U-17 Men’s National Team at the 2019 South American U-17 Championship in Lima, Peru. This year with the Timbers, Mosquera scored the game-winning goal in Portland’s home opener against Sporting Kansas City on Feb. 27 and has tallied a goal and an assist.
