At its peak, the $85 million dollar expansion of Providence Park – set to re-open this weekend with the Portland Timbers hosting Los Angeles FC Saturday (7:30pm PT, ESPN2), and Thorns FC hosting Chicago Red Stars on Sunday (3pm PT, TICKETS, Yahoo! Sports) – had upwards of 225 people representing 35 different trades and 63 different firms working on the building. From electricians to glaziers to installers and more, these men and women were the foundation towards expanding a Soccer City, USA landmark.
We asked them what they liked best about working on the stadium and some of their favorite memories.
