Congratulations to our September 20th Axe Society Members of the Match – Paul and Samantha Harmon!

As part of our inaugural group of ticket holders, Paul and Samantha won the chance to have a VIP experience for the Portland Timbers vs. New York Red Bulls match, including KeyBank Club seats, and a chance to visit with Timber Joey on the field!

We asked Paul a few questions after the match.

What was your first memory of/first match supporting the Timbers?
"We had attended a few matches before the inaugural MLS season, but it was that very first MLS game that sticks with us most.  A cold and rainy night, but the amazing atmosphere completely overwhelmed everything else and made it an unforgettable event." 

What was your favorite moment of the match today?
"It's tough to pick one moment, so we'll take most of the final 20 minutes when the Timbers were applying relentless pressure.  Even though it was incredibly frustrating, the energy was amazing." 

Who would you nominate as Player of the Match?  
"Diego Valeri, active as always, great corners, and some amazing shots." 

What is your prediction for the next match – Timbers versus Columbus Crew?
"All the hard work and opportunities (finally) convert into goals and they get a huge road win". 

What else should we know about your Timbers fandom? Any gameday superstitions? Favorite pieces of Timbers memorabilia?
"Only gameday superstition is to wear different colored jerseys, so one of us gets to match the team but the other needs to go with an alternate color.  For Timbers memorabilia, we've frequently taken advantage of the Stand Together auctions.  My favorite is a match used ball signed by Nagbe and Ricketts and our son loved getting to meet Urruti at this year's "shirt off the back" auction."
