As part of our inaugural group of ticket holders, Keith and Susan won the chance to have a VIP experience for the Portland Timbers vs. Seattle Sounders match, including KeyBank Club seats, and a chance to visit with Timber Joey on the field!
We asked Keith a few questions after the match.
What was your first memory of/first match supporting the Timbers?
Early years of Timbers coming back to Portland, we were in from the start, 2002 or so, maybe 2003…..
We would take family (young kids back then) and sit sort-of up behind the Army. Timber Jim would stop by with stickers for the kids, chat them up, take photos, all good times. Usually a game or two per season. Just would roll up on game day and buy general admission. Fun times!
What was your favorite moment of the match today?
Quick back-to-back goals in the second half to clinch the match.
Who would you nominate as Player of the Match?
Nagbe. Honorable mention to Borchers for holding the back line together, stepping up and taking the lead role.
What is your prediction for the next match – Timbers versus Real Salt Lake?
Timber win: 3 – Nil. These guys are on a roll, clicking.
What else should we know about your Timbers fandom?
I love my section, have met great people over the years. Match day is a time to connect with soccer-loving friends. Pregame or at half time, I’ll also go visit friends in other parts of the stadium, we talk soccer, and other topics, good times had by all in a Timber format.
