Congratulations to our August 29th Axe Society Member of the Match – Brian Bauman!

MOTM, Timbers vs. TFC, 8.29.18

As part of our inaugural group of ticket holders, Brian and his friend Patrick won the chance to have a VIP experience for the Portland Timbers vs. Toronto FC match, including KeyBank Club seats, and a chance to visit with Timber Joey on the field!

We asked Brian and Patrick a few questions after the match.

What was your first memory of/first match supporting the Timbers?
Brian: Walked up to a summer game when I was visiting Portland in 1999, bought a couple tickets and we were hooked.

Patrick: Standing and singing in 107, especially on Thirsty Thursdays.

What was your favorite moment of the match tonight?
Brian: Chara’s goal. Such a great build up and so great that Chara put one in.

Patrick: Chara’s goal, of course

Who would you nominate as Player of the Match?
Brian: CHARA!

Patrick: Because it was his best match of the season and his goal sealed the win – David Guzmán

What is your prediction for the next MLS match – Timbers at New England Revolution?
Brian: Timbers win 2-1, Valeri and Blanco get back to their scoring ways

Patrick: 1-nil victory . . . Armenteros

What else should we know about your Timbers fandom? Any gameday superstitions?
Brian: I wear the same scarf I bought the year we won the Cup to every game. I have the Timbers Army chanting “No Pity in the Rose City” as my ring tone on my phone.

Patrick: I will wear the exact same jersey/sock/scarf/hat combo to each match during a winning streak.

Congratulations Brian and Patrick! And thank you for your continued support!
