Congratulations to our August 21st Axe Society Member of the Match – Nicole Comer!

As part of our inaugural group of ticket holders in The Axe Society, Nicole and her friend Natalie won the chance to have a VIP experience for the Portland Timbers vs. Houston Dynamo match, including KeyBank Club seats, and a chance to visit with Timber Joey on the field!

We asked Nicole a few questions after the match.

What was your first memory of/first match supporting the Timbers?
"My first Timbers match was on my birthday in 2002. Some friends and I came for Thirsty Thursday... oh, the good ol' days."

What was your favorite moment of the match today?
"My favorite moment of the match was probably the Melano goal. He's fun to watch- his movement/positioning on the field, his speed and skill. I look forward to watching him feel more comfortable in MLS and scoring more goals."

Who would you nominate as Player of the Match?  
"Melano. I don't always think the goal scorer(s) is Player of the Match, but Melano made things happen."

What is your prediction for the next match – Timbers versus Seattle Sounders FC?
"I'm going to be optimistic and say 1-1."

What else should we know about your Timbers fandom?
'I own a condo a couple of blocks from the stadium and before I was a season ticket holder (USL days), I could hear the cheers from fans at the stadium when I didn't go to a match- I could always tell when the Timbers scored. It made me want to go to more and more matches! 

"My Axe experience was great! All the staff was so nice and seemed to know our names, the food was delicious and the seats were awesome. We also got to meet Andy Carson (a Fox12 weatherman) while down on the field- he seemed to be quite interested in being an Axe Society Member of the Match!"
