We asked Toni a few questions after the match.
What was your first memory of/first match supporting the Timbers?
"We were part of the Timbers Army and the excitement of the first match was unforgettable. We arrived very early, got in line and had a mini tailgate with all the other team supporters. Once the game started, it was filled with singing and cheering, 'We're not sleeping tonight' with thousands of excited Timbers fans!"
What was your favorite moment of the match tonight?
"Diego's goal! Beautiful volley. In addition, [Marco] Farfan shined in his home debut with multiple tackles from his left back position. He was very fun to watch."
Who would you nominate as Player of the Match?
"Diego Valeri."
What is your prediction for the next match – Timbers at Philadelphia Union?
"Timbers dominating play and finishing more chances. 3-0, Timbers."
What else should we know about your Timbers fandom? Any gameday traditions?
"[We] put on our game day shirts (Chara!), hang our Timbers flag, and have a beer! I do have a particular piece of jewelry that I must wear for every game. It was my mother’s and she sends down her support from Heaven when she can."
