We asked Travis a few questions after the match.
What was your first memory of/first match supporting the Timbers?
"I first attended a match in 2006 against the Rochester Rhinos. We sat midfield, but were amazed by the Timbers Army section. I remember thinking “We’ve got to sit over there!”. I made the TA my home after that match."
What was your favorite moment of the match tonight?
"All three goals were great, but I’ve got to say the tifo was pretty fantastic. I’ve volunteered in the past to help paint tifos and there’s a lot of work that goes into those things. My hat goes off to the entire tifo crew!"
Who would you nominate as Player of the Match?
"I’d say Alvas Powell with a goal and an assist. That guy has real moments of brilliance and a pretty good impression of a striker."
What is your prediction for the next MLS match – Timbers versus NYC FC?
"NYC FC is a hot team right now, so this should be a true test for the Timbers at home. I’m hoping we can hand them their first loss . . . but I’m going to go with a 1-1 draw."
What else should we know about your Timbers fandom? Any matchday superstitions?
"I’ve only missed one Timbers home match since 2008 and I have a Timbers tattoo that I got the day we played Valencia. No game day superstitions, although I did make sure to wear the same kit and scarf during our playoff run and in Ohio for the final.
My favorite pieces of memorabilia would be my match worn Kwarasey, Nagbe, and Adi boots. I’ve got them sitting on Timbers championship turf in cases."
