Cascadia Cup Standings Update - Sept. 15, 2012

David Horst, Timbers vs. Seattle, 6.24.12

With two wins and a draw under their belts, the Portland Timbers enter Saturday’s Cascadia Cup rivalry matchup against Seattle Sounders FC (12:30pm PT, NBC, 750 AM The Game / La Pantera 940, presented by adidas) undefeated and on top of the Cascadia table with seven points. Seattle Sounders FC are second with four points, while Vancouver rounds out the bottom of the table with two points.

With only four Cascadia Cup matches remaining between Portland, Seattle and Vancouver, the Timbers can win the Cascadia Cup outright should they defeat Seattle on Saturday. .

The Timbers continued to claim the top spot in the rivalry as they defeated the Whitecaps 2-1 on Aug. 25 at JELD-WEN Field. Midfielder Darlington Nagbe and teammate forward Franck Songo’o provided goals for the Timbers.

With the weekends matchup with the Timbers and Sounders FC quickly approaching, so does the thought of reclaiming the Cascadia Cup for all to see in front of a packed house at JELD-WEN Field.
