Forward Nathan Fogaça scored two goals in his Timbers regular-season home debut. The last time a Timbers player scored in their first match at Providence Park was on June 1, 2019 when Brian Fernandez tallied against LAFC. Fogaça also became the first player in Timbers history to record a brace in his MLS debut.

The seven goals Portland scored was the most the Timbers have tallied in a single match across all eras of the club going all the way back to 1975. Also, interestingly, it's the second time a Portland team has scored seven goals against a Kansas City opponent in this stadium – the first being Portland Thorns FC's 7-1 victory over FC Kansas City in 2014.
