Portland Timbers Academy midfielder Adrian Villegas has been named to the U.S. U-17 Men’s National Team roster as part of head coach John Hackworth’s 26-player roster for the team’s latest international camp. Set to take place from Feb. 24-March 3, in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, the U-17 MNT camp will feature multiple friendlies against the U-17 Honduras National Team on Feb. 27 and March 2, as the U.S. continues to prepare for the 2017 CONCACAF U-17 Championship.
This camp marks the U-17 U.S. Men’s National Team’s first international camp in 2017 and the first set of international matches since December’s Nike International Friendlies, where the U.S. swept U-17 sides from Brazil, Portugal and Turkey to win the tournament for the first time since 2013.
