The 2024 MLS SuperDraft, presented by adidas, is set for Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 12pm PT. The draft is a player acquisition mechanism where MLS teams make selections from among the top college soccer prospects in North America. This year, the SuperDraft includes three rounds – the first of which will be streamed live for free on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
The Timbers currently hold the 11th selection in each round: No. 11 overall (Round One), No. 40 overall (Round Two) and No. 69 overall (Round Three).

Eligibility Basics
For the first time in MLS history, the list of players eligible for selection includes a broader range of young talent:
- Players who are currently collegiate sophomores, juniors and above.
- Previously, only players who were collegiate seniors and above, along with Generation adidas signings, were eligible for selection.
- College players will also still be able to sign Generation adidas contracts (freshmen and above).
Along with the eligibility rules, the league hosted the 2023 adidas MLS College Showcase in Phoenix, Ariz. that presented a closed-door scouting event, sanctioned by the NCAA, of the top 44 college players.
Generation adidas program
Generation adidas is a joint program between MLS and adidas that sees a handful of top collegiate underclassmen and youth national team players signed by MLS to Generation adidas contracts and made available in the SuperDraft.
To provide Generation adidas players with the best professional environment, Generation adidas player salaries are not charged against an MLS team's annual salary budget, providing an added incentive for that club to develop the player. Eventually, GA players graduate to senior player contracts and their salaries are charged against a team's budget.
