2019 Cascadia Cup Standings | Timbers open their quest Friday against Vancouver

Cascadia Cup, Timbers vs. SJ, 10.27.12

The quest for the 2019 Cascadia Cup begins Friday for the Portland Timbers as they travel to Canada to take on Vancouver Whitecaps FC (7pm PT, FOX 12 PLUS (KPDX)). While it'll be the first Cascadia match for Portland, Vancouver and Seattle Sounders FC played to a scoreless draw earlier this spring giving them each one point in the season-long, intra-team competition.

Created by the supporters of the Sounders, Whitecaps and Portland Timbers, the Cascadia Cup has been around since 2004. It was contested by all three teams in the USL until 2009, when the Sounders made their MLS debut. The Whitecaps and Timbers continued battling for the Cup in the lower divisions until 2011, when both then moved up into MLS, allowing the Sounders to get back in on the competition.
